I could see this in a scene from an epic film.
The hero, broken and bloodied, staggers onward, his goal in sight. He ignores the pain that shoots through his body with each step. With a herculean effort, he completes this final task. His task done, he closes his eyes and falls to the ground and dies.
(cut to scene that shows his efforts were not in vain)
